This weekend I made the commitment to myself and to others that Love In Training is, in fact, happening and moving forward. While there is A LOT to figure out between now and October (when I wish to begin filming) this weekend was good on many levels; chief of which being taking my own destiny (and creative happiness) into my own hands for the first time in many, many years. But I can’t do it alone, which is why I humbly ask for everyone’s help moving forward.

Love In Training is NOT going to be a huge, Hollywood, production. I don’t want that. I don’t want it to be some rinky-dink production either. Instead I’m opting for something in the middle, but something truly independent in that I’m going to be raising money via three methods; first via the bank of Andrew, second via a select group of sponsors and third via some form of crowd source funding, which is where you come in.

In order to make Love In Training the way I feel it needs to be made it’s going to take a concerted effort by all to help make this happen. For two years this film has been down the ‘traditional’ roads and twice it has been ‘green lit’ only to have the funding fall through or pulled due to circumstances that have had nothing to do with the film, and everything to do with those with money somehow needing more. This film isn’t about money or making rich people richer, it’s about telling a good story. It’s also about giving back, giving back to the remarkable animals that helped to inspire me and subsequently this film. I know I’ve dealt with this topic of giving back to causes before, but I feel it’s important and something that more films should do but don’t. By going about the funding of Love In Training the way that I want to I can ensure that the give back component of the project remains intact from start to finish. I’m currently working directly with the groups that will receive funds from the film’s proceeds to ensure the program goes off without a hitch. Hopefully in a week or two I’ll have the full details on just what all this means, but in the meantime know that your help, financial or otherwise, will be doing more than just helping my team and I make a film.

This message is purely a primer for what’s to come, but please keep this information and goal in your mind for in roughly two weeks it’s going to be all hands on deck. I’m not trying to raise millions, or even hundreds of thousands, but it still is going to take a concerted effort to make this happen and I’m hoping you will all join me for the journey.

I thank you very, very much for reading and for your continued support. It truly does mean the world to me! Until next time, take care and stay tuned…

UPDATE: The romantic comedy, Love In Training, referenced in this post has been put on hold indefinitely. I apologize for the confusion. For more information please read my announcement detailing the change

Got a chuckle at the thought of Amy having an actual elephant in her room, from intro. to, “Love In Training”, the new upcoming Andrew Robinson movie. Sounds like a good one Andrew. Wishing you all the best on your new film making quest.
