- The Home Cinema Experience
I realized a few weeks ago that I have spent the better part of the last year in relative silence doing little to bring you, my loving supporters, up to speed on what’s going on. First let me apologize, for that simply isn’t cool and not what I planned on when I decided to launch my own website. Without rehashing too much, I just want to say that I was taking some time for myself in order to get things straight so that I could finally move forward.
Now, on to the topic at hand -the future. The next couple of weeks (or months) are going to be a little crazy for I’m branching out on my own in some respects and will definitely be relying on all the love and support you can spare. For starters I’m completing a story that will become my next film. The story is currently untitled though I’ve been calling it Three among my friends and family. It’s small ensemble drama/comedy that revolves around a man and the story of the three women who ultimately changed his life. Like everything I write this story is personal to me, though it’s not biographical. I began writing it about month or so ago and am half finished at present and am on schedule to begin production in the fall -probably September-ish. What sets this story apart from my previous endeavors is that I’m attempting to make it all on my own. What I mean by that is finance it via mixture of personal funds as well as funds that I will either raise via sponsors or through crowd sourced outlets such as Kickstarter. Needless to say this is not going to be a large production, but not a cheap one in terms of quality either. I just want to get back to the basics and focus solely on the story and the performances of my actors versus some kind of spectacle.
I also am attempting to bring the entire production in-house, which is daunting but something I’m pretty psyched about, for it will give me complete creative freedom from start to finish. Plus, I want to document the technical process as well as the tools used throughout production on a new site that I haven’t given a name yet. I’ve been hard at work at getting the development of that site done as well as writing the script so that come August all three elements; this site, the tech site and the film itself are able to tell one cohesive story. It is my goal to make this process repeatable, thus making it possible to deliver truly independent content on a regular basis and make it available to a growing fan base via means and methods that work for them. Having played in various Hollywood sandboxes over the years I’m more concerned with feeling connected to the work as well as my supporters, than I am with trying to fit in to some system that frankly doesn’t make a lot of sense to me anymore. I hope this plan excites some -okay all of you -enough to want to join me and help be a part of this little underground experiment.
For now, I’ve got a little more behind the scenes work to do but please keep checking back for I’ll be posting far more frequently as I ramp things up in preparation for the start of production.
I can’t thank all of you enough and sincerely appreciate your patience, love and support all these years. As always, take care and stay tuned…
UPDATE: The romantic comedy, Love In Training, referenced in this post has been put on hold indefinitely. I apologize for the confusion. For more information please read my announcement detailing the change.
